WHY LA LOVERS

Los Angeles works differently.

It is spread out.

You do not step outside and immediately understand the city.

You move through it.

A residential street.

A strip mall.

A freeway.

A store hidden somewhere you would never expect it.

A restaurant that looks like nothing from outside.

Sunlight everywhere.

Then suddenly night.

LA Lovers came from that feeling.

Not the postcard version of Los Angeles.

Not Hollywood.

Not palm trees as an aesthetic.

The version of LA that starts making sense when you stop expecting the city to explain itself.

A CITY YOU HAVE TO MOVE THROUGH

Tokyo gives you things constantly.

LA makes you go looking for them.

The distances are bigger.

The interesting places are scattered.

Sometimes there is nothing between two places you want to visit except forty minutes in a car.

At first that can feel inconvenient.

Eventually it becomes part of the city.

You start collecting completely different environments throughout one day.

Coffee somewhere quiet in the morning.

Fashion on Melrose.

A gallery in the afternoon.

Dinner somewhere that has looked almost exactly the same for years.

Then music somewhere else entirely.

The city exists through movement.

And every part of the day can feel disconnected from the one before it.

We like that.

STYLE WITHOUT LOOKING TOO FINISHED

There is a particular kind of LA style that looks like someone did less than they actually did.

A great pair of pants.

A washed shirt.

Old sneakers.

One expensive piece.

Something vintage.

Something completely normal.

Then one object that changes everything.

The interesting outfits rarely look perfectly assembled.

There is usually something slightly off.

Too oversized.

Too worn.

Too simple next to something very considered.

That balance is difficult to fake.

It also feels close to how we think about Revasserie.

You do not need ten things fighting for attention.

Sometimes one strange object is enough.

HIGH AND LOW

LA is very good at putting things next to each other that should theoretically belong to completely different worlds.

Luxury fashion and thrift.

A serious gallery next to something completely ordinary.

An expensive car parked outside a tiny restaurant.

Designer clothing with old sportswear.

Perfect houses next to buildings that have barely changed in decades.

It does not always feel curated.

That is why it works.

We are more interested in that kind of contrast than in a world where everything is designed to match.

Revasserie was never supposed to be precious in the traditional sense.

925 silver can exist next to enamel.

A considered object can still be playful.

Something limited can still be worn until it becomes part of everyday life.

High and low can exist together.

THE SPACE AROUND THINGS

Los Angeles gives objects room.

Maybe because everything is bigger.

The streets.

The cars.

The houses.

The distance between places.

A single piece can carry more weight when there is less happening around it.

That is something we think about with jewelry too.

Not adding more just because there is space for more.

Letting one thing do the work.

A necklace does not have to disappear into an outfit.

Sometimes it should interrupt it.

WHY GREEN

The LA Lovers colorway is green.

But not because Los Angeles is somehow a green city.

What interested us was the way color exists against the built environment.

Vegetation next to concrete.

Palms against pale buildings.

Sun faded surfaces.

Road signs.

Cars.

Sportswear.

Small flashes of color inside a city dominated by asphalt, stucco and light.

Green feels alive without having to feel polished.

Against silver, it creates exactly the kind of interruption we wanted.

Familiar from a distance.

Different once you actually look at it.

THE SUN CHANGES EVERYTHING

Light does something to Los Angeles.

Things that might feel loud somewhere else suddenly make sense.

Color behaves differently.

Metal behaves differently.

Clothes behave differently.

You notice texture.

Faded fabric.

Scratched surfaces.

Chrome.

Paint.

Skin.

Things do not have to look untouched to look good.

Sometimes they look better because they are not.

That idea is important to Revasserie.

We are not interested in objects that only work when they remain perfect.

We are interested in things that become yours.

WHY LA LOVERS

Because LA does not reveal itself all at once.

Because personal style does not always need to look deliberate.

Because expensive and ordinary can sit next to each other.

Because one object can change everything around it.

Because color looks different in the sun.

Because some cities make you walk.

LA makes you move.

And somewhere between all those disconnected places, your own version of the city starts forming.

LA Lovers is not our attempt to recreate Los Angeles.

It is what stayed with us after moving through it.

Not a souvenir.

An object you can wear.

24 HOURS IN OUR LA

If Tokyo is a city where we tell you to walk, LA is the opposite.

Get a car.

Accept the traffic.

Do not try to see everything.

This is not the Los Angeles guide.

Just our LA.

Coffee

Start at Maru Coffee in the Arts District.

Coffee first.

Nothing complicated.

The Arts District gives you a quieter start before the day turns into driving from one part of the city to another. Maru's Arts District location is currently on Santa Fe Avenue.

Fashion

Head toward Melrose and West Hollywood.

This is the area we would give most of the fashion part of the day.

Do not treat it like a mall.

Drive.

Park.

Walk sections.

Get back in the car.

Repeat.

Very LA.

One Store

Departamento.

This would be our main fashion stop.

It feels less like walking into a conventional store and more like entering a very specific point of view.

The selection matters, but so does the environment around it.

That is what makes it interesting.

You are not there because you need another shopping destination.

You are there because the store itself tells you something about where fashion in LA is moving.

Art

Go to Jeffrey Deitch.

Check what is showing rather than going for one permanent thing.

That is part of the reason we like galleries in a city guide.

The place stays the same.

What you find inside does not. Jeffrey Deitch currently operates Los Angeles spaces on Orange Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard.

Burger

Burgers Never Say Die.

Smash burger.

Simple.

Beef, cheese, pickles, onions.

No reason to make it more complicated than that.

Tacos

Brothers Cousins Tacos.

Street tacos.

Go hungry.

Order more than you planned.

Eat standing around.

Exactly how it should be.

Thai

Jitlada.

Southern Thai.

Spicy, intense, loud flavors.

A completely different side of LA food culture and exactly why the city is interesting.

You can go from tacos to Thai food to old school Italian American without any of it feeling out of place.

Dinner

Jones.

Dark room.

Italian American.

Late dinner.

Old LA energy without feeling like you went somewhere because someone told you it was iconic.

Stay longer than planned.

Wine

Lolo Wine Bar.

Natural wine, low light, relaxed energy.

The kind of place for one glass before the night continues.

Or two.

After Dark

Do not choose the night by the most famous club.

Choose it by the lineup.

If Into The Woods is happening, go.

Warehouse feeling.

House, techno, garage.

If TUNNEL is happening, even better for the Revasserie mood.

Darker.

More experimental.

More Berlin.

The goal is not to end the night somewhere everyone already knows.

The goal is to end up somewhere where people actually came for the music.

NOT THE LA GUIDE. JUST OUR LA.
