WHY REVASSERIE?

Some names describe exactly what a brand sells.

We did not want that.

Revasserie was never supposed to sound like jewelry.

It was supposed to describe the space around it.

The thoughts.

The places.

The memories.

The things you notice and keep thinking about for no obvious reason.

That is where the name begins.

WHAT DOES REVASSERIE MEAN?

Revasserie comes from the French word rêvasserie.

It describes a state of daydreaming.

A wandering thought.

A reverie.

The kind of moment where your mind moves somewhere else without necessarily knowing where it is going.

In French, the word can describe vague or changing thoughts, somewhere between dreaming and simply letting the mind wander.

That feeling immediately made sense to us.

Because Revasserie was never supposed to exist only in the world of jewelry.

NOT QUITE A DREAM

A rêvasserie is not necessarily a dream.

That distinction is important.

You are still here.

Still awake.

But your mind has moved somewhere else.

A city you remember.

A place you want to go back to.

Something you saw years ago.

An object you cannot stop thinking about.

A color.

A person.

A night.

A feeling that is difficult to explain properly.

Those fragments eventually become taste.

And taste eventually becomes the things we choose to surround ourselves with.

THE THINGS THAT STAY WITH YOU

Most inspiration does not arrive when you are actively looking for it.

It happens randomly.

A store in Tokyo.

Someone walking past you in Berlin.

The color of a car in Los Angeles.

A restaurant sign.

An old piece of jewelry.

A club at four in the morning.

Something catches your attention.

Then it stays somewhere in your head.

Maybe for years.

Revasserie comes from collecting those fragments and eventually turning some of them into objects.

A WORLD BEFORE A PRODUCT

That is also why we call this space The World of Revasserie.

The product is only one part of it.

Fashion matters.

Music matters.

Food matters.

Cities matter.

Art matters.

Nightlife matters.

The way a place feels matters.

None of those things are separate from the jewelry.

They are part of the same visual and emotional world that eventually produces it.

Revasserie is less about asking:

What should jewelry look like?

And more about asking:

What are we interested in right now?

Then seeing what comes out of that.

MEMORY IS NEVER EXACT

There is another reason the word fits.

When you remember a place, you never remember everything.

You remember fragments.

A street.

A color.

A smell.

A store.

A meal.

One specific night.

The memory becomes your version of the place.

That is exactly how Berlin Lovers, Tokyo Lovers and LA Lovers work.

They are not attempts to represent entire cities.

They are interpretations.

Pieces built from what stayed with us.

WHY JEWELRY?

Jewelry has a strange relationship with memory too.

It stays close to you.

You wear the same piece in different cities.

Different years.

Different relationships.

Different versions of yourself.

Eventually the object collects associations that had nothing to do with the reason you originally bought it.

That is when an object becomes personal.

It stops being just something you own.

It starts carrying something.

That idea feels very Revasserie.

REVASSERIE IS NOT ABOUT ESCAPING REALITY

Daydreaming can sound like wanting to be somewhere else.

That is not really how we see it.

For us, it is more about paying attention to what stays in your mind.

The things that pull you away for a second.

The things you notice.

The things you imagine differently.

Sometimes that is where the best ideas start.

Not from trying to create something.

From letting one thought lead to another.

WHY REVASSERIE?

Because not every idea begins with a plan.

Because places stay with us differently than we expect.

Because objects can carry memories.

Because imagination and reality are usually more interesting when they overlap.

Because the things we keep thinking about eventually shape what we make.

Revasserie is a word for wandering thoughts.

For us, it became a name for everything those thoughts can turn into.

And sometimes that becomes jewelry.
